Where to Go at Night in Kyoto
Kyoto’s attractions are not only limited to the historical side of things. Visitors who want to enjoy a night out or two will find that there are several nightlife districts. Must-visit areas include the Gion District, Pontocho Alley and Kiyamachi Street, where you will have a hard time deciding on which venues to start off at.
These areas are full of pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs and are great people-watching venues. Remember that not all Kyoto nightlife is on the ground floor: many venues are in the higher floors of buildings so keep your eyes open for the neon signs announcing their location.
